After all the ultimate value of any space can only be gauged by the one who occupies it.

Screation feels that a kitchen is very much part of one’s home and it should be aesthetic yet practical. Her own kitchen is a prime example of her beliefs. Measuring 16 ft X 15 ft, the wood finish inside the kitchen is of the same caliber as everywhere in the house kitchen design images. The cabinets are of teak. To break the monotony of wood and also to give a lighter look, a couple of the overhead cabinets are of glass. The informal dining area seats four and in the dead space under the table, a wine rack has been built. A movable cabinet on the side holds a small TV, telephone, cook book and assorted brie-a-brac kitchen design pics. A potted palm adds color and hides a water-dispensing machine which fits neatly into the niche between the cabinet and the wall.

The false ceiling is fitted with halogen lights and the kitchen also has recessed lighting. The walls are covered with washable wall paper so it never looks sooty or grimy kitchen design layout. The wood is polyurethane coated and is maintenance free. This large space has been effectively converted into a beautiful, utility-cum-living space.

ANGLED TO FIT

Architects JD were asked by their client to provide a functional, friendly and beautiful kitchen. It was intended to be stylish, yet practical. The 200 sq ft kitchen was odd shaped, with few right angle walls interactive kitchen design. However, although the plan looks awkward, the circulation within works systematically, with the wet area, dry area, preparation counter and cooking counter placed along one wall. A little table on the opposite wall doubles as a breakfast counter. The kitchen has an adjoining store area, which takes care of most of the clutter island kitchen design. We wanted to plan the kitchen to be clutter-free, and hence ample storage for all kinds of requirements was provided.

The finishes provided are ones that require low maintenance and can be cleaned easily. The cabinets are deco-painted kitchen design. Granite being a hard stone has been used for the counter-top. They chose polished white marble for the floor, for its clean, sterile and cool ambience. Red glass tiles clad the wall for a little color and warmth.

METICULOUSLY PLANNED

Architects JD designed a meticulously planned kitchen for the Screation. The long, galley-type kitchen is a thoroughly modern place filled with every conceivable gadget and implement to make preparation and cooking a snap! While one end of the room is a window, the other plays host to a breakfast table and wrought-iron chair compact kitchen design makeover. On one side of the table is a larder with double hinged doors taking up almost the entire wall in this part of the kitchen. On the other side is a large fridge, and a table next to it has a microwave oven and electric kettle. The door to the kitchen separates this area from the cooking side. The door to the kitchen separates this area from the cooking side. The ceiling over this portion is lowered to accommodate a roomy loft. Alongside the larder, a carved bracket joins wall to ceiling as if really holding the loft up!

The ceiling past the loft, over the cooking area, is high and vaulted. One wall here has a cooking range and work space on both sides of it design for kitchen. The wall opposite takes the sink and drain boards and a tall cabinet for storage. The special feature here is the upper portion of the cabinet. Glass-paned shutters show electrical and manual gadgets, each in a place of its own, the electrical ones to be used right where they are, with their individual plug points. A light within the cabinet lets you see exactly what you are doing design my kitchen. Between the kitchen and the larder is a small transition area which is utilized for reaching the loft and at the side is a generous space for laundry, ironing, drying clothes and housing domestic brick-like tiles.

TALES FROM THE VIENNESE WOODS

Although the house that they live in is more than thirty years old, my friend Sandy have a very modern and beautiful kitchen designed a couple of years ago by architect JD. Sandy is Viennese and she wanted her kitchen to be a family room, a cheerful, warm friendly space where the family could interact and gather in the evening, helping in the preparation of the one meal that they sit down to together 2020 kitchen design makeover. Sandy therefore was very specific about how her kitchen should be designed. I have two growing daughters, aged 6 and 10, who naturally want to spend time in the kitchen, concocting their lemonade, helping me bake, so I wanted uncluttered counters where they could sit and talk to me while I worked.

The large, L-shaped kitchen was carved out of two rooms, measuring approximately 24 square meters. It has four well-defined spaces, the cooking area, with the cooking range placed against the main wall, an L-shaped preparation counter extending from the cooking counter, the washing area and a niche for the breakfast table design for small kitchen. The white marble floor is interspersed with diamond-shaped inlays in green granite, with a granite border. For counter-tops Screation has used greenish-black granite – 4 inches thick, that I got from a granite-exporter friend of ours, informs sandy. Cabinets are wood, painted ivory with pretty molding and sprayed with melamine, so they are easy to wipe clean design my kitchen. I thought I should go in for the molding, since it looks so pretty and one renovates or constructs only once, explains sandy.

There is provision for spotlights under the cabinets above the counters, but sandy prefers not to use the extra light because when one works in concentrated light, one tends to get blinded the second one looks away, she says good kitchen designs. Against one side of a cabinet hangs a calendar which sandy, religiously consults. I tell the cook to translate for me and definitely schedule meetings and signing of contracts according to JD or auspicious time, confesses sandy.

This is the one room in the home, where the family spends time together how to design kitchen. My fourteen year old son was down from Hebron international school and he cooked us a whole meal that he learnt in domestic science at school. The preparation and sharing the meal together was a great experience for us.

PRACTICALITY PLUS

Sandy kitchen, designed by her architect sister-in-law, Cali is not only very practical, but also very attractive kitchen makeover. Sandy was very particular that her kitchen be designed around her requirements, as I have to work here, it must meet my needs. Cali a housewife in addition to being an architect, not only understood those needs, but was able to translate them very accurately.

It was important to fit in several time-saving gadgets, such as the washing machine and the dishwasher as well as the blender, microwave oven and toaster-oven. Space had to be found for the grinder and the big grain containers. Cali accommodated all these, while leaving adequate working space.

To avoid wastage of space; shelves accommodating smaller items in cabinets were at closer intervals to each other; wire racks were installed on the insides of shutters to take care of small bottles that are difficult to find in cabinets latest kitchen designs; an extra stone was put on the window-sill to make it double as a counter. Corners were utilized with shelves for spices and for the water glasses luxury kitchen designs. To allow vessels and plates to drip-dry out of sight, Cali fit a stainless steel draining rack behind shutters above the sink which also hid the water filter.

An exhaust fan on the outer wall, close to the cooking range, obviates the need for a hood over the range of kitchen design. The tube of the gas cylinder connects with the range through a hole in the wall. This is safer than the more commonly seen hole in the platform, as there is no scope for water to come into contact with it simple kitchen design. While paying attention to the practical aspects of the kitchen, Cali did not forget aesthetics. A common motif appears throughout the kitchen, from the flooring to the shutters, glass cabinets and kitchen door, for a more co-ordinate look. Most cabinets over the platform are fronted with etched glass so every thing is visible at a glance kitchen design plan. An attractive rack supports mugs, and ladles and spoons are placed n pretty containers, close at hand. An herb garden in the window-box not only provides added color, but also comes in useful when cooking.

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL

The colorful kitchen is an area which plays an important part in their daily activities. The color scheme is bold and beautiful and has been chosen from a varied palette to design a kitchen. Orange table tops, red light fixtures and sink, green doors, white ceramic tiles with red grooves as wall cladding – all these co-exist harmoniously with grey walls and floor and black granite counters. Mirror polished vitrified tiles on the floor give that glossy finish and this again is in contrast to the matt finished ceramic tiles used on the dado and counter-tops kitchen makeovers. The kitchen flooring extends into the dining room, thus establishing a continuum between the two spaces.

Architect Mr. JD felt that the kitchen could be much better organized if there was a demarcation of spaces. So the kitchen has been separated by a glass partition where one area is used for chopping, cooking and washing and the other area is used more like a pantry, which houses the electronic appliances and crockery kitchen designs gallery. The glass partition also serves as a visual bridge between the two areas. Visualized as a family space, a small informal dining table has been provided here. The ceramic tile top of the table is integrated with the glass partition, making it accessible from both parts of the kitchen.

KITCHEN FOR ALL SEASONS

Cali has been designing kitchens for 10 years. She studied interior kitchen design in London and interned with MKD holdings in the U K. she specializes in custom-built kitchens. The two kitchens designed by her, have some similar features that are typical of her style open kitchen design. Cali prefers kitchens with a lot of wood-work as they give a feeling of warmth and also look good. The wood is polyurethane coated and is maintenance free. She likes a functional and practical kitchen and likes to create space to hide all the extras that one always seems to collect in a kitchen.

Both the kitchen featured here are fully functional, yet have separate utility areas complete with storage, cabinets, wash basins, overhead plate racks and fridge. This utility area (11 ft x 6 ft and 8 ft x 6 ft) forms the main kitchen and can be shut away by closing the sliding door in between design of a kitchen. This separates the two kitchens and keeps one area exclusively for the lady of the house when she wants to cook. The larger kitchen has a larder cupboard which is L-shaped and is equipped with enough shelves and storage space as it uses up dead space; it is actually a space saver. Both kitchens have informal dining areas with seating for four.

There is concealed lighting under the molding and there are wooden racks under the cabinets. There are also what-not shelves built into the corner cabinets to house assorted decorative pieces design your kitchen. Lazy cabinets where bottles etc. are kept and all gas pipelines are external. The wine rack fits into a niche and the microwave is on a shelf above it so once again space has been saved. There are a variety of wire-coated baskets, pull out shelves and under shelf baskets

COMPACT IDEAS

In an apartment where space is at a premium (there’s only 525 sq ft to juggle around with), interior designers kitchen is packed with a lot of punch. Needless to say it’s tiny but it is a comfortable workspace designed to suit their lifestyle designs for kitchens. It caters to their daily needs as well as meets the demands of frequent entertaining.

JD remodeled the kitchen by breaking the wall which separated it from the living area and did away with the door which opened into the passage free kitchen designs. As a result she has an American-style kitchen that creates an illusion of space. All modern convenience refrigerators, toaster and the microwave have been fitted in without crowding the kitchen – that’s because the microwave has been kept in a niche meant for an AC!

The choice of materials in this kitchen is a bit unusual best kitchen designs makeover. There are fire bricks on the floor and wall cladding, their mustard yellow color and texture giving an earthy look flooring design. They’re highly porous but don’t stain and going by the spotless look. I don’t doubt that claim at all. The cabinet shutters have a border of fir wood, processed to give a burnt effect of kitchen design.

The open shelves are covered with cabinet liners available abroad, that have been painted white. Finer details have not escaped JD, for example, she has put a wire rack at the back of the shutter that encloses the gas cylinders. This space in most kitchens is left unutilized.

The source of water in the kitchen has been placed in the south west corner. The sink was earlier where the refrigerator is today. JD has shifted it to the north-east which is considered a good location. The only drawback is that it’s visible from the living room but that’s a small price to pay for your beliefs. All in all, the kitchen is a visual delight and no doubt makes an equally delightful place to cook in.
